Maine Moose Hunt

I pulled a 4A south adaptive cow tag in the Maine moose lottery.  I was a little disappointed we did not pull a bull tag, but I was grateful as a non-resident to pull any tag. After I pulled the tag, I did my research.  Matt and Moose Maine came highly recommended by fellow hunters. I reached out to Matt over at Moose Maine who gladly took on our hunt.  After speaking with Matt for a few minutes he asked “would I be open to swapping for a bull tag?“  Of course I agreed and within 12 hours Moose Maine found me a once in a lifetime Sept Zone 6 Bull moose tag.  Matt and Moose Maine went above and beyond when it came to communication, preparation, and scouting before the hunt. He did plane and drone flyovers of zone 6 on top of all the typical scouting techniques to guarantee a successful outcome for our hunt.

The food was 10 out of 10 with the Moose Maine Crew. The chef kept us well fed throughout the week. Upon arriving to the main lodge, we were greeted with a traditional Maine lobster and clam dinner.  Throughout the week we were always looking forward to our next meal.  The guides all had many years of experience in the Maine wilderness, moose hunting and mouth calling. I was very impressed by their calling skills. Matt called in Multiple bulls before selecting the best one. We took a bull with a 48” spread on day 3 of our hunt. We had a bunch of 50” plus bulls within range but were not able to get clean shots.  Definitely will be booking again!
