My son and I did a black bear hunt over bait with Moose Maine. The experience was great. Ron is one of nicest guys you could meet. All of the people that work with Ron at Moose Maine are just as nice and hard working and take great care of you. The Maine River Lodge is a premier hunting lodge The food and services are as good as you could ask for.  Our guide we had is a super nice guy and will work as hard as he can to get you your bear. It's like you're not hunting with a guide but one of your friends. Thanks to everyone one at Moose Maine for a great hunt and hope to see you again.

Fall 2021 - Zone 4 camp

I would say that my hunt with Moose Maine in 2021 was awesome but it really was so much more than that. Perfect. When I first contacted Ron Greco looking for a guide I was very impressed by the questions that he asked of me. The big one was "what type of hunt are you looking for?" I told Ron that I wanted a hunting experience, out in the woods, time spent in the woods not in a vehicle, a real outdoor hunt. That is what Ron and his crew gave me. Exactly what I asked for including a great tent camp out in zone 4. From the start it was obvious that the guides had done the scouting and knew the right places to hunt as we saw sign everywhere we went. On the third morning after hiking nearly a mile up an old tote road, grown up with waist high grass, calling along the way Ron got a response from a big bull. After an hour and 45 minutes of an amazing calling demonstration the bull came into view. What an exciting experience hearing that bull repeatedly raking trees and grunting back. Perfect. Exactly the hunting experience I was hoping for. After the shot Ron went into furious motion getting the moose hauled out and the support truck called in, thanks Don, the priority was to get the meat taken care of as it was 75 degrees that day. Ron handled everything expertly getting the moose out, to the tagging station, broken down and chilled, then later processed and delivered to me. I honestly could not think of anything that could have made my hunt with Moose Maine any better. Perfect. I very highly recommend Ron and his crew. I know that they will give you the hunt of a lifetime, just as they did for me.

I was lucky enough to be drawn for a moose tag in 2021 it was in zone 4 cow tag.I asked my son to go as my sub partner and started searching for a outfitter. I saw Moose Maine and decided to call and from the first 5 minutes on the phone I knew it was them I could of talked for hours with Ron as I felt like I have known him for years. This was my son's and my hunt and that's how Ron made me feel all about us and he was going to do everything in his power to get us on a moose. We were on the tip of moose head lake at a cabin Ron had for our hunt.  Ron had done scouting for us checking here and there to make sure our chances were as good as it could get. The camp, food ,great conversation, I can't say enough about Ron and Moose Maine as he went above and beyond to get us on a moose which we put a tag on a cow. Being with my son on this hunt will last a life time of memories and having met Ron I've made a life long friend. Moose Maine will always be my choice and should be yours if you get drawn you will not regret it , can't wait to hunt with him again.

Fall 2021 - Bedford, MA

My friend Joe and I had the experience of a lifetime moose hunting with Moose Maine. From my first conversation with Ron after drawing a tag, I knew that I had found the right outfitter to trust with a once in a lifetime hunt. Ron and our guide Bob, and the whole team went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible opportunity to harvest a bull, and have a great time doing it. The lodging was top notch, great food (and lots of it) and all the facilities and gear to take care of the hunt from beginning to end. In addition, the amount of effort that went into pre-season scouting was really impressive. Even in Zone 18, which has a pretty low density of animals, we were able to connect on a nice bull thanks to Moose Maine's detailed knowledge of the area. Ron is also very willing to work with you regardless of your choice of weapon--in our case we wanted to flex between archery and rifle, and it was all handled seamlessly. In addition to the hunt itself, the experience in camp was about as much fun as I can ever remember having, and made the hunt that much more memorable. I highly recommend booking your hunt with Moose Maine, and would hunt with them again in a heartbeat.

2021 Bull Moose - Ohio

A moose hunt has been a bucket list item for a LONG time and I passed on a chance 2 years ago due to work. I decided if the opportunity ever presented itself again, I wanted to do it with someone I trusted and that knew what they were doing. The first time I spoke with Ron, I knew someday I wanted to hunt with him. Got that chance this year From the opening evening lobster feast to the way to the airport, Ron and the other guides and staff were incredible. Felt like we'd known each other forever and they took care of all the hunters at every turn. They fed us like Kings and treated us the same This particular week the bulls were not at all vocal or responsive at all and although challenging, they never waivered in their attempts to get me a shot opportunity. It finally came at 6 pm on the evening before the last day when Ron had a nice bull come running in from over 1/2 mile away. I couldn't recommend these guys any more. An experience of a lifetime with fun people who care and take care.

Ron made sure we were comfortable and looked after us every minute. You can expect to be treated the best, better than family and my family treats me well! Ron never said, no... bikes to borrow, cut your own firewood, great local advice on waterfalls and swimming holes... faith in humanity has been restored hanging out with a perfect stranger like we were old high school buddies.

Great Moose Hunt

I was lucky to have drawn a Maine moose tag and even more lucky to have found Ron and the guys at Moose Maine. I contacted several lodges and outfitters after drawing the permit. Every person I spoke with seemed like good guys, but Ron was different. I knew quickly into our initial conversation that Ron would do everything in his power to make sure that I had the best trip possible. Most important to me was Ron asked about the type of experience I was looking for. During the hunt it was evident Ron was very familiar with the area and the moose. I was able to harvest the exact type of moose I was looking for on Thursday. We had a couple of other opportunities before that that either didn't work out or were not what I was looking for. I am an extremely satisfied customer. Ron and I check in on each other on occasion to see how the other is doing. I have a friend in Ron and would not consider using another outfitter if I am lucky enough to draw again.

Bear Hunting Fanatic

I'm a big bear nut and have been hunting in Maine for years. I have used countless outfitters over the years. Last year I took my granddaughter on her first bear hunt at Moose Maine. To say I was happy is a understatement. She harvested her first bear at only 12 years old. Ron is one the best guys u could ever meet. From the lodge, to the food, the guides, u couldn't find a better outfitter to book a hunt with. All the bait sights were set up right with nice ground blinds or tree stands. I was so happy with my experience with them I gave them a deposit for this next year before I left camp. My wife has never been on a guided bear hunt before but after the experience I had I'm taking her and the granddaughter this year. I found a outfitter that I will use every year from now on or until they get sick of me. I highly recommend Moose Maine for an experience of a lifetime. Shawn Coston New York

Moose Hunt of a Lifetime

What an amazing adventure I had with Ron and Moose Maine!  It's amazing the amount of time and effort they put in to making my hunt such an incredible experience.  We saw lots of moose and shot a beautiful 54.5" Bull late in the week after passing on others.  We had an absolute blast at camp from the time we arrived we felt like we were the top priority.  The lobster bake to start the week was phenomenal as were all the meals.  It was amazing to be treated to the many local flavors they served from the wild mushrooms to the fiddleheads or the chicken and pork they raised themselves.  The lodge was the nicest lodge I had ever stayed in.  Clean, comfortable and beautiful!

Great Place to Stay

Had a great weekend snowmobiling. The well furnished camp was perfect with direct access to hundreds of trails. Ron and his crew were very personable and helpful. Planning on staying again for an ATV trip.
