Spring hunts are available through our partnership with the Passamaquoddy tribe. We work directly with one of their longest tenured and most experienced guides to offer these extremely limited hunts. The great thing about the spring hunts is there is no competition from hounds or any other bait hunters. Spring bears are hungry after their torpor period in the winter and will cover ground to find a good food source. It is not uncommon to have 10 or more individual bears come into a site during the short season.
Our bait hunts are 7 nights of lodging with 6 days hunting. We maintain two sites per hunter to ensure everyone has an excellent opportunity during their stay. Your guide will take you in and out of your site every day and bait the barrel while you get ready in your stand or blind. Each site is set up with a camera so we can ensure we are giving you the absolute best opportunity. Each site has a blind and/or a tree stand so we can accommodate hunters with physical constraints. We will recover your harvest and transport it to any local processor of your choice for processing.

Proven Success
We offer some of the best bear hunting over bait in the State of Maine. Most of our sites are on locations where hound hunting is not allowed due to either landowner restrictions or because they are too close to the Canadian border.
Many of these sites have been maintained for decades and are proven to produce great bears year after year. Year after year we continue to have near 100% success and opportunity rates. Our average bear is around 200 pounds.
Thoughtful Preparations
We maintain two sites per hunter to ensure everyone has an excellent opportunity during their stay. Each site is set up with a camera so we can ensure we are giving you the absolute best opportunity. Additionally, each site is set up with a white barrel to provide the best possible shot opportunity in late evening. Being able to squeeze out a few extra minutes of good shooting can be critical when your after wise old boars. We primarily hunt from blinds or enclosed stands. We are able to accommodate hunters with disabilities or severe physical limitations.

Sites are baited daily to give you the best opportunity to harvest a mature bear. We will recover your harvest and transport it to any local processor of your choice for processing.

Bear Hunting with Hounds
Bear hunting with hounds is an action packed an adventure! Hound hunting offer some of the most exhilarating hunting experiences. You will need to be prepared for fast action and be in good physical shape to get the most out of this experience. Hunts can mean miles of walking and can require lightning fast decision making. Our hound handlers won’t be outworked by anyone in their effort to help you with your pursuit!
Our hound hunts are for 6 nights lodging and 5 days hunting. Plan for an early start. We serve a light breakfast at the lodge and provide lunch on the hunt, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks during the hunt. We finish off the day with a hearty home cooked meal back at the lodge.

Trapping-Hunting Combos
Trapping offers hunters the potential to harvest two bears in the State of Maine. Trapping also offers the chance at a truly big bear. Big bears tend to be more and more nocturnal as they age. The traps work day and night and give a great opportunity to harvest some giants. Unlike hound hunting that requires large tracts of land to go after big bears, trapping can be done in areas close to places hounds can’t safely operate. This gives us a great opportunity to get big bears close to areas where hunting with dogs or bait is not allowed.
Trapping requires a special permit but does not require a trapping license or a safety course to trap with our guides. Additionally, we can provide a trapping opportunity to go with a fall bait or hound hunt to increase the likelihood of success or to try for multiple bears.
Our adventures are 6 nights of lodging with 5 days hunting. Your guide will take you in and out of your site every day and bait the barrel while you get ready in your stand or blind. We will recover your harvest and transport it to our cooler or any local processor of your choice for processing. Package includes meals and lodging.
